Going to California

Does style get any better than California in the 70's? It is by far my favorite decade, aesthetically speaking. The clothes, colors, music, and hair were simply perfection.

Haight Street

Shopping trip in San Francisco with Shahrou. Gotta love the faux fur.

Summer Colors

Two of my favorite colors this summer: pink and teal

Shoe Angst

Jeffrey Campbell- so much shoe angst.

Wanted G. Appropriate name for these adorable velvet mary janes. I love anything with a 90's-esque vibe.

Sassy. I adore wooden platforms. They've got a simple 70's look, and I think they would look good with everything in my closet. It's shoes like these that make me wish I was 5'2" rather than 5'8".

Everest "Hiking Boots." A combination of Jeffrey Campbell Litas and my dad's hiking boots. Simply love them.

Mad Men

I've recently become infatuated with the show Mad Men. The style and look of the show is simply perfect. All the characters, men and women, are always dressed to nines. I've always loved the 50's look, but after watching Mad Men my inspiration to dress like a housewife has definitely been renewed.

Betty Draper definitely has my favorite style on the show. She has a very typical 50's/60's housewife look and is always glamorous and feminine. I love her colorful, structured dresses and, of course, the pearls (my favorite kind of jewelry).

Joan is basically the opposite of Betty, a single sexy vixen with fabulous curves. Her makeup is always perfect, with red lips and winged eyeliner. She makes me want to dye my hair red again.

Adore Vintage
Adore Vintage is one of my favorite blogs. The blog has beautiful pictures of vintage clothes, accessories, and inspiration, and the online store sells a variety of unique and colorful looks from the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's.
Here are some of my favorite dresses.

Marilyn in Wonderland

My parents gave me this canvas poster of Marilyn Monroe for my birthday. I thought the simple black and white picture could use some colorful sprucing up. I used acrylic paint, spray paint, black lace on the bottom, and cutouts from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Vintage Black Lace and New Jeffrey Campbells

Nothing like a $3 dress to go with my new $160 shoes. Shahrou took these pictures in the woods near our house in Tahoe Donner.
